Ron E. Wallace has used his talents wisely and continues to do so. He earned both a BA in Education and a MA in Public Administration from UNM.

The"Perspective Magazine" serves as a voice and a networking tool for the New Mexican African American community. The Perspective publication also provides important resources for the youth of our community. In addition to highlighting the accomplishments of young people locally and around the state, it provides for them employment and affords them opportunities to gain experience and learn by writing. Sponsored by the State Office of African American Affairs, The Statewide Focus Magazine, New Mexico's only other African American publication, is also published by Ron.

Using his Public Administration degree, Ron served as a Gang Intervention Specialist for the city of Albuquerque. He worked to implement strategies for reducing youth violence. His responsibilities included cooperating with business and community organizations to intervene and help troubled teens to turn their lives around. In 2001, Ron won the Youth Peacemaker of the Year Award from the New Mexico Center for Dispute Resolutions.
